We aim to ensure that new technology, which enables deaf children to listen and speak, is made available, specially to children of underprivileged families. AURED is in its 34th year, and continues its endeavor to fulfill its mission – to empower each deaf child with the gift of spoken language.

Project that require immediate funding

Auditory Verbal Therapy (AVT)

The method used at AURED which enables children to listen and speak and integrates them into the mainstream.

AURED Hearing Aid Bank

With new technology coming in there is a need to buy high quality digital hearing aids for the hearing aid bank. Ideally, a bilateral cochlear implant is required for maximizing the outcomes. As most of the children cannot afford a second implant, at least a hearing aid is recommended for the other ear.

Rent for AURED premises

Over the years, AURED has ‘migrated’ from a kitchen to a bedroom, to a garage, to the current premises as a joint project of King George Vth Memorial, Mumbai. AURED, also has a satellite centre in Hyderabad.

Staff Salary

AURED staff consists of 28 like-minded hard working and passionate people who are committed to the upliftment of children with hearing loss.

Smart-phones and Tablets

Children enrolled with AURED were missing out on therapy sessions and losing valuable learning time due to the global pandemic, COVID 19. To meet this challenge we started an online therapy for the students. However, to make this a success it is essential for each family and the therapists to possess at least a smart-phone, with which ‘one-to-one’ therapy can be conducted on an on-going basis.
