Success Stories
Priya Kothari was born in July 1997. At an early age of six months, her hearing loss was detected. She was fitted with hearing aids soon after the diagnosis was confirmed.
Priya was enrolled with AURED at the age of 4 years. She received her first implant in the right ear-CP 810 in 2002 followed by a bilateral implant N6 CP 910 in the left ear.
Though she is a late implantee, she has made exceptional progress in developing auditory skills. She converses fluently in Hindi and English.
Priya is an arts graduate. She has specialised in painting portraits and receives orders from around the country as well as abroad. She is also a trained beautician and excels in her work. She takes orders for bridal make-up and parties which she handles independently.
Priya is very fortunate to have a father who encouraged and supported her in all her endeavours and gave her the confidence to be an achiever.
Mrunali was born in 2006.Her hearing loss was detected when she was just a year old. Subsequently, she was fitted with hearing aids and was enrolled at AURED for pre-implant training in the Auditory Verbal Approach.
She was implanted with a Nucleus Freedom Implant in May 2008.It was upgraded to CP810 in 2017. She received training in Marathi and studied in a Marathi medium school at the primary level. At present, Mrunali is studying in STD IX with English as the medium of instruction.
She speaks fluently in both languages.
Mrunali takes part in several extracurricular activities in her school. She is a good orator, she participates in debates and often wins. She is good in art. Her hobbies are drawing and handicraft.
Akshita Awchat was born in April 2007. Her hearing loss was detected when she was a year old. She was fitted with hearing aids. Akshita was implanted with Nucleus Freedom Implant in Feb 2009 and was enrolled at AURED in August 2009.
At present Akshita is studying in Std.VIII.
She is doing well in school. She speaks fluently in Hindi and can converse in English too.
Siddhant was born on 2ndDec 1992. His hearing loss was detected at the age of 6 months and soon after he was fitted with hearing aids. He was enrolled at AURED when he was 3 years old and inspite of late intervention in the Auditory Verbal Approach, he developed good hearing skills and started conversing in fluent English. He was implanted with Cochlear’s Freedom Implant when he was 9 years, upgraded to CP920 a few years later.
Siddhant completed his B.Com in 2014 and passed his C.A. exams in 2018. For the past 3 years he has been working in a prestigious multinational company, K.P.M.G. in the Audit Department of Financial Services.
Siddhant is a skilled cricketer, loves music and dancing. He values his independence and has travelled extensively in India and abroad.
